Description
Squadron Leader (Sqn Ldr) Ivan Stanley Podger's son, Greg, with his miniature RAAF jeep. This is one of a collection relating to the service of O354 (154) Sqn Ldr (later Group Captain) Ivan Stanley Podger. Enlisting with the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) in 1937, he went on to serve with the RAAF in the Second World War and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross on 20 November 1943 for displaying outstanding leadership whilst flying. Podger also served as one of the Commanding Officers of 91 Composite Wing, RAAF, in the Korean War.
