Studio portrait of 5101 Private (Pte) Thomas Chester Trelease, 28th Battalion. Pte Trelease, originally from Michigan, USA, was a compositor from Cottesloe WA, when he enlisted in March 1916 aged 26. He was killed in action on 1 June 1918, along with 26 others of his battalion, by bombs dropped from an enemy aircraft near the village of La Houssoye.
