Collection relating to the service of Cecil Richard Stanton
Description
Signed group portrait of eight soldiers, all sergeants, relating to Cecil Richard Stanton. Stanton was a member of the Permanent Forces and trained Non-Commissioned Officers until he also attended Officer Training at Duntroon with the No 6 School, qualifying on 29 March 1917. He enlisted in the AIF in September 1917, was posted to the 13th Battalion and embarked for overseas service on 22 March 1918. He caught influenza and was hospitalised before he joined the 13th Battalion. He returned to Australia in November 1918
