Studio portrait of 409470 Warrant Officer Charles Herbert Fortescue RAAF taken during flight training. The portrait and similar ones of servicemen from the RAN and AIF were used as background components of a poster produced for the Second Victory Loan (1944). Warrant Officer Fortescue was later commissioned as a Pilot Officer and flew Liberator bombers from northern areas of Australia. He is wearing a standard Sidcot flying suit, headphones with flexible metal Gosport speaking tubes and flying goggles.
