Portrait of William John Quirk (later 3230 Private (Pte) Quirk MM) greeting 719 Pte Percival (Percy) Pellas, 7th Battalion, when he returned to Australia suffering from wounds and illness. Both men were from Harcourt, Victoria. The postcard was sent to a friend, 4223 Pte John Charles 'Jock' Jennings, also of Harcourt, who was serving with the 5th Battalion in France. The photographer's backdrop portrays a painted Australian flag.
