Outdoor photograph of 4468 Private (Pte) Joseph William (Bill) Cameron, 2nd Battalion. Pte Cameron was a labourer from Armidale, New South Wales before he embarked with the 14th Reinforcements, 2nd Battalion from Sydney aboard RMS Osterley on 15 January 1916. He was transferred from the 2nd Battalion to the 61st Battalion on 23 March 1917, and then back to the 2nd Battalion on 19 September 1917. Pte Cameron died of wounds received in action at France on 28 August 1918. He was 24 years old.
