Description
Japanese prisoners of war (POWs) awaiting medical examination by the 2/10th Field Ambulance on the island of Ambon. Ambon was captured by the Japanese forces in February 1942 and the Australian barracks at Tan Tui became a POW camp for the remainder of the Australian forces on the island. After the liberation of Ambon from Japanese occupation in 1945, the 2/10th Field Ambulance were responsible for the medical care of the interned Japanese POWs.
