The Kaiwo Maru berthed in port. The Kaiwo Maru was a four masted tall ship, built in 1930 as a Japanese merchant marine cadet training ship. Aboard the ship while it was berthed in Darwin, were 64 cadets training to become mercantile marine officers. This image is part of a collection relating to the service of 20760 Petty Officer William Franklin Anderson, who served in the RAN from 1935 until 1947.
