Unknown soldier, possibly 3rd Australian Infantry Battalion
Description
Collection consists of a 17 page handwritten manuscript, plus typed transcript, describing the Battle of Pozieres in July 1916. The first page of the manuscript is missing, and the last part is a torn partial page. The account appears to have been written by a member of 3rd Australian Infantry Battalion. It makes particular mention of the author's good friend Private Herbert Stanley Newland who was killed during the battle.
