1939-45 Star. Impressed reverse with recipient's details.
Gerald Harold Reginald O'Sullivan was born on 25 June 1925 in Charleville, Queensland. He enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force on 30 June 1943, service number 150038, and was assigned to 6 Recruit Depot as a guard. Prior to enlistment he worked as a horse breaker.
On 12 August 1943 O'Sullivan was posted to 1 Recruit Depot in Shepparton where he undertook and passed the security guard's course. In September 1943 he was posted to RAAF Bombing and Gunnery School, and the Airfield Defence Squadron in December. In February 1944 he was promoted to Leading Aircraftman. Subsequently he was posted to 323 Radar Station, 342 Radar Station, 3 Personnel Depot, and was discharged on medical grounds on 14 May 1945.
