Manuscript titled 'They Heard The Call' containing transcripts of letters and postcards written to his family by George Wilberforce Bird, 3112, while on service between 1916 and 1918. Also includes transcript of a postcard to Bird from J.F. Sweeney, sent from Egypt and dated 02/01/1916. Bird describes his surroundings, extra-curricular activities and meeting family friends while in Warrigal NSW, Durban, Cape Town and France.
