Studio portrait of Cook (S) 24155 Michael Sofoulis, RAN. A baker from Perth in civilian life, Sofoulis enlisted as an Assistant Cook on 15 March 1940 and was promoted to Cook in 1941. Cook Sofoulis was killed in action on 27 November 1941, when HMAS Parramatta II was sunk in the Mediterranean Sea by the German submarine U-559. He was aged 19.
