Informal portrait taken on 5th Avenue of 409560 Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) Harry Kenloch Lucy. A despatch clerk from North Fitzroy, Vic prior Harry Lucy initially enlisted in the army and served as a private with 2/10 Field Ambulance. He was discharged on 26 May 1941 and on 12 September enlisted in the RAAF. Flt Sgt Lucy was serving as an air gunner on a Lancaster bomber of No.460 Squadron when, on 22 September 1943 during a night raid over Germany, the aircraft disappeared. It was later discovered that the plane had been shot down and all on board killed. Flt Sgt Lucy was buried in the Becklingen War Cemetery, Germany.
