Page 3 of sketchbook relating to the service of Sgt Arthur Joseph Wilesmith (QX7653) 2/2 Machine Gun Battalion. Depiction of a soldier carrying a full kit, trooping through the bush and gasping for breath. He is calling out to his Captain standing centre right who is smoking and reading a map. The caption inscribed on the verso of interleaving tissue paper is 'DIG: (Gasping) How far to camp now sir? CAPT: Er about 4 miles as the crow flies. DIG: Some Bxxxx crow to carry this load and fly four miles'
