Description
Page 10 of sketchbook relating to the service of Sgt Arthur Joseph Wilesmith (QX7653) 2/2 Machine Gun Battalion. Of this image the Wilesmith noted ' The Concert party would not be worth anything without its female impersonator but its crook when the boys are starting to fall for him...' This image depicts a lovesick digger seated on a log staring at a concert party poster for a performance featuring a female impersonator called "Sadie". His mate has come up to ask him what's the matter.
