Informal portrait of brothers, NP9592 Staff Sergeant (Staff Sgt) Clifton Edward Pollard (left) and NX55420 Private (Pte) Leonard Ferris Pollard (right) of Drummoyne, NSW. Staff Sgt Clifton Pollard enlisted on 21 January 1940 and served with the Corps of Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. Pte Leonard Pollard enlisted 6 months after his brother at Paddington, NSW, on 28 June 1940 and served with the 2/30th Battalion. Pte Pollard died as a result of illness whilst held as a prisoner of war in Burma on 6 September 1943.
