Description
A house in or nearby the Labuan Prisoner of War (POW) camp, possibly used by Australian soldiers involved in conducting the War Crimes Trials. Originally used by Japanese forces throughout the war as a POW compound for captured Allied prisoners, the camp was requisitioned by American and Australian troops and used as a surrender camp for Japanese forces. It was the location of the Labuan War Crimes trial which ran from November 1945 to April 1951. This image forms part of a collection of original negatives relating to the December 1945 War Crimes Trials held at Labuan.
