Description
Informal portrait of 24510 Wireman (later Leading Wireman) George Ross Berwick RAN. An electrician from Melbourne when he enlisted on 11th July 1940, Wireman Berwick was appointed to HMAS Sydney the following month. On 20 November 1941 all 645 personnel onboard HMAS Sydney were lost following an engagement with the German cruiser Kormoran off the coast of Western Australia.
