Outdoor group portrait of the 2/21 Battalion marching through Albury, New South Wales. Identified are VX32076 Private (Pte) Stanley Robert Hawksworth, second from front, left file; and VX32311 Pte Edward John Thomas Hinch marching immediately behind him. Both men were taken prisoner of war (POW) while serving as part of Gull Force in defense of Ambon. Pte Hinch was executed on 20 February 1942 (see P10805.001); Pte Hawksworth died of illness on 24 June 1945.
