Studio portrait of 93345 Corporal (Cpl) Violet May Gunning, a member of the Women's Auxiliary Australian Air Force (WAAAF) based at the Wireless Telegraphy Station in Brisbane, Qld. Cpl Gunning was killed (along with 23 other personnel) in a Douglas C47 aircraft crash at Archerfield Queensland on 27 March 1943. She was a sister to RAAF 36276 Aircraftman Milton Robert Gunning who drowned at Nambucca Heads on 19 November 1941.
