Studio portrait of 228 Private (Pte) William Corbett Hill in civillian clothes. A clerk from Essendon, Victoria, prior to enlistment, he embarked from Melbourne with the 7th Battalion aboard HMAT Hororata (A20) on 19 October 1914. Pte Hill was killed in action on Gallipoli on 25 April 1915. He was 38 years old.
