2480 Sergeant (Sgt) Steven Walsh standing next to a United Nations police car located in a Buffer Zone at a former United Nations checkpoint. The white concrete memorial to the right is in memory of Ian Donald Ward who was a NSW policeman killed by a landmine in 1974. This image relates to the service of Walsh who served with the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) 1994-1995, the United Nations Mission in East Timor (UNAMET) in 2004 and the United Nations Mission in Sudan (UNMIS) in 2007.
