1939-45 Star issued to 161623 Leading Aircraftmen Leonard Henry William Kelso, for his service during the Second World War.
Born on 24 October 1922 at Woollahra in NSW, he worked as a coal miner before enlisting on 7 March 1944 with his younger brother Thomas White Kelso, 161611. He spent most of his service in the No. 110 Mobile Figher Control Unit (radar). At the time of his discharge on 8 March 1946 he was serving with the No. 2 Personnel Depot Staff.
