Description
Studio portrait of father and son, 18187 Private (Pte) William Charles Greenwood, Australian Army Medical Corps, and 3387 Pte John Thomas Greenwood, 39th Battalion. Pte William Greenwood enlisted on 27 February 1917 and served in Egypt, before returning to Australia on 13 June 1919. Pte John Greenwood enlisted on 5 March 1917, aged 19 years, and embarked from Sydney to join the 15th Training Battalion in England on 16 July 1917. He joined the 39th Battalion in France on 13 February 1918 but was taken ill and died of Tuberculosis and Meningitis on 12 April 1918.
