Studio portrait of 778 Private (Pte) David Mancel Davies. A blacksmith from Eaglehawk, Victoria, he embarked from Melbourne aboard the HMAT Hororata (A20) with the 7th Infantry Battalion on 19 October 1914. Pte Davies was killed in action at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915. He was 22 years old.
