Description
Studio portrait of 6180 Private (Pte) Albert Murray Cross, 23rd Battalion. A grocer's carter from Glebe, NSW, he embarked with the 23rd Battalion from Sydney aboard HMAT Argyllshire (A8) on 31 October 1916. He was promoted to Lance Corporal (L Cpl) in France on 26 May 1917. L Cpl Cross was killed in action in Belgium on 7 November 1917. He was 19 years old.
