Stay, Ernest John
Description
One original handwritten letter dated 28 November 1916, and accompanying envelope, written by 2161 Corporal (Cpl) Ernest John Stay, 26 Battalion AIF. Cpl Stay wrote the letter whilst a patient in the 1st London General Hospital, Camberwell, to Mrs Julia M. Patterson, a family friend from the Darling Downs region in Queensland. Also includes a printed thank you for your sympathy note from his family after Cpl Stay was killed in action in France on 8 August 1918, and a black and white photocopy of a photograph of Julia Patterson.
