Studio portrait of 802 Private (Pte) Charles Gordon Wild MM, 4th Battalion. On 2 December 1916, Pte Wild Embarked with the 8th Reinforcements, 1st Anzac Cyclists Battalion aboard HMAT Orsova (A67). He was awarded the Miliitary Medal in 1919 for action at Chuignes on 23 August 1918 when the unit was advancing and under attack from a machine gun, he engaged the crew with his rifle and compelled them to withdraw.
