Informal portrait of NX36330 Private (Pte) John Currie and NX13968 Pte Howard Alfred Steward, both 2/13 Battalion. Pte Currie enlisted in Wagga Wagga, NSW, on 12 July 1940, and served in the Middle East. He was discharged on 28 July 1944. Pte Steward enlisted on 26 April 1940 and embarked for the Middle East on 19 October 1940. He was killed in action on 7 September 1942, aged 23 years old.
