Description

Identification portrait of 413809 Leading Aircraftman (LAC) Leonard Hardie White, of Waverley, NSW. A plumber prior to enlisting on 13 September 1941, he completed his initial training and progressed to the Intermediate and Advanced Training Course 20 for pilots at No. 7 Service Flying Training School (7SFTS), RAAF Station Deniliquin, NSW, Australia held from 9 February 1942 to 25 June 1942. After training, he was posted as Pilot Officer (PO) to No 4 Operational Training Unit based at Williamtown, NSW. On 20 November 1943 he was accidentally killed in a flying accident near Braidwood, NSW. He is buried in the Woden Public Cemetery, Woden, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia. PO White was 23 years of age.
