Description
Identification portrait of 413393 Aircraftman 2 (A.C.2.) Reginald John King, of Bowling Alley Point, NSW. A school teacher prior to enlisting on 17 August 1941, he completed his initial training at Bradfield Park, NSW and was later attached to the RAF. Warrant Officer (WO) King, attached to No. 460 Squadron RAAF, took off from Binbrook, England, on Operation Stuttgart in a Lancaster III ND393 with a crew of 7. On 15 March 1944, WO King and the crew were lost on operations. He was 22 years of age. WO King’s body was never recovered. His name is remembered with honour on the Runnymede Memorial, Surrey, England, United Kingdom.
