Studio portrait of 288 Private (Pte) Harold Gordon O'Donnell, 5th Machine Gun Company. A farm hand prior to enlisting on 6 April 1916, Pte O'Donnell embarked for overseas service on 1 May 1916 aboard the HMAT Benalla. Pte O'Donnell received a gunshot wound to the face on 6 May 1917 in France and was evacuated to the Northampton War Hospital, United Kingdom, but died of his wounds on 21 June 1917.
