Studio portrait of 851 Trooper (Tpr) William John White, 4th Reinforcements, 8th Light Horse Regiment. A shearer from Merino, Victoria, Tpr White enlisted on 29 October 1914, and embarked from Melbourne, aboard HMAT Wiltshire (A18). Tpr White was killed in action in Palestine on 19 April 1917, age 30.
