Description
Outdoor portrait of QX6470 Captain (Capt) Alexander Fraser, 1 Independent Company. Capt Fraser is photographed at Zentsuji Prisoner of War Camp and this is a crop from a larger identity photograph taken of groups of prisoners at the camp. Most of the men held there were Allied officers captured in the early battles of 1942 and Capt Fraser was captured in the South West Pacific. In the larger image (P04017.014), Capt Fraser is photographed with Lieutenants Hass, Neilsen and Kilner who were captured in New Britain. This crop was sent to Miss Joyce Hill from the camp and is inscribed: "To Joyce, love and best wishes"
