The 11th Mobile Strike Force (Mike Force) Company soldiers, some with obvious wounds, recovering after the Battle of Ngok Tavak, Da Nang. The 11th Mike Force Company was a mixed force of 213 soldiers from the Australian Army Training Team Vietnam (AATTV), United States Special Forces, Vietnamese Special Forces, Civil Irregular Defence Group (CIDG), United States Marine Corps (USMC), and Vietnamese mercenaries of Chinese origin. They were stationed at the Special Forces camp of Kham Duc (Ngok Tavak) and were tasked with establishing contact with the 2nd Division of the North Vietnamese Army. The North Vietnamese Army attacked the 11th Mike Force Company on 10 May 1968 in overwhelming numbers resulting in an estimated 57 casualties from the Company. The remainder of the 11th Mike Force Company were evacuated to Da Nang by helicopter.
