Description

The building in Malaya used as the 2/10th Australian General Hospital (AGH). It was decided to evacuate this hospital in early 1942 due to the speed of the Japanese advance down the Malayan peninsula. By this time, the hospital had 1200 beds, a number of specialty departments, as well as vast quantities of medical and hospital equipment. The day after it was evacuated, the building was heavily bombed by the Japanese.
