Padre Philip Raymond Anderson at Government House Sydney. Padre Anderson came to Canberra as a child in 1965. After graduating from high school he joined the Citizen Military Forces. He enlisted as an army chaplain in 1991 and was posted to 1 Field Regiment as a general reserve chaplain. Anderson served in the Australian Regular Army from December 1992, including two overseas posting to Bougainville, in 1999 and 2001. He also held various senior chaplaincy roles in postings in Australia before his retirement in January 2013.
