Description

Pattern 1856 Volunteer Cavalry Carbine. Percussion lock engraved Issac Hollis & Sons, Makers to, Her Majesty's War Department. Barrel stamped 25. Stock marked J Ashton Armourer Hythe, Arrow/GS and AWM19079. A 'D' is stamped on the left side wrist. The butt tang is stamped G 88 and the trigger guard N.S.W. It is complete with all parts including the saddle bar and ring.

The markings indicate that this weapon was issued to the New South Wales Cavalry.
