Anglo-Russian Merry-Go-Round
Program for 'Anglo-Russian Merry-Go-Round' by Eugene Iskoldoff at Adelphi Theatre, London. This 'Anglo-Russian Merry-Go-Round' was a 'super production' devised and directed by Eugene Iskoldoff, a Russian emigrant, for the United Ballet Foundation under the auspices of Beacon Foundation Ltd. This production included a combination of musical theatre, Revue, comedy, ballet and popular Russian song and dances. The production toured around the UK and was part of a surge in interest in Russian opera following the Russian response to the German attack in December 1941. On the back of this program are advertisments for other plays showing on the London West End.
This program was collected by 417820 Pilot Officer Frederick Stephen William (Fred) Dyer, 11 Personnel Despatch and Reception Centre, Royal Air Force around November 1944.
