81 mm Model 935 mortar sight
Description
Mortar sight. Azimuth controlled with a thumbwheel, on the barrel of which is inscribed 'Direzione'. The azimuth scale is inscribed with 'Laboratorio Precisionere ROMA'. The sight body is painted black. The lower part of the sight can be adjusted for range. The sight elevation element is inscribed with 'Per mortaio da 81 Mod. 935 Ma. 696' Calbration of elevation is from 45 to 90 degrees. Sight is contained within a dark grey green leather case, which opens at the top and is fastened with a buckle at the front. The sight is 'french fitted' within the case, with wooden blocking providing the means of protection. The case has a single cotton web strap attached to the rear.
