Description

Binoculars in canvas covered wooden box. These binoculars are 15 power, with a field of view of 4 degrees. The right lens is graticuled 30mm up and down, right and left. The eyepieces are angled to the front barrels. These binoculars have an attached calibrated scale, the rubber eye pieces are in very good condition. The instrument is painted grey. Markings: Translation of white painted Japanese characters on the canvas lid "BOX FOR TYPE 89 10cm AA BINOCULARS". Translation of black inked Japanese characters on a wooden tag attached to the box "BUIN (Bougainville) 19th AIR DEFENCE TROOP". Translation of Japanese characters located on an aluminium tplate on the lid of the box "No.2559/ JUNE 1943/ ENOMOTO OPTICAL FINE MACHINARY FACTORY (EK)". There is a paper parts list attached to the inside of the box. Impressed between binocular barrels "15 x 4 degrees/ EK 'in the middle of a star'/ No.2559", "27". Translation of Japanese characters located on 4 screws "Hole for drying". Located inside the box are 2 spare lenses and 2 spare eyepiece rubbers. Tripod and mount RELAWM24694.
