Embroidered badge and shoulder title : Greek Forces, Korea
Pair of badges worn by members of the Greek Army in Korea. The two badges comprise a curved pale blue felt shoulder title with a border and the word 'GREECE' in gold bullion wire, and a shield-shaped national patch with the United Nations logo. The pale blue felt shield is divided into two sections, the upper third being a rectangle divided by a cross of silver bullion wire with a red crown at its centre. The lower section contains the UN logo of a globe encircled by a wreath, also in discoloured silver bullion wire. This badge is backed with white cotton fabric.
Badges worn by members of the Royal Hellenic Battalion, which served as part of the United Nations force in Korea (attached to the 7th US Cavalry Regiment) from December 1950 to the end of the war. The battalion suffered over 600 casualties during the war. After the cease fire, they were bolstered by the arrival of a second Greek battalion, and remained in Korea until December 1955.
