Description

Round pressed tin badge with celluloid coating, and rear mounted brass stick pin. The face of the badge features a graphic of the standard Victorian ARP badge (see REL/15711.001-.013) in silver on a blue background, surmounted by the King's crown. Below the crown in red is "VICTORIA" and "AFS" underneath which is printed "DF" followed by a stamped number, 056. The extreme edge of the badge is printed with the maker's details.

History / Summary

Auxiliary Fire Service (AFS) label badge issued by the State Emergency Council of Victoria during the Second World War, and worn by ARP members assisting with fire fighting. It is unknown to whom the serial "DF 056" was issued.
