Desmond, Lorrae
Description
One page original letter dated 28 September 1969 handwritten by Brigadier Stuart Paul (known as Bill) Weir, Commander 1st Australian Task Force (1 ATF), South Vietnam. The letter was written to Lorrae Desmond MBE, well known Australian civilian entertainer, in appreciation for the concert she and her team put on for the 1 ATF troops at Luscombe Bowl on 19 September 1969. Particular mention was made of the extremely rainy weather conditions in which Lorrae performed; 'Any artist that can hold an audience in a monsoonal downpour...is really great'.
