Studio portrait of 6601 Private (Pte) Albert John Oswald Parslow, 1st Battalion. A farmer prior to enlisting on 23 March 1916, Pte Parslow embarked for overseas service aboard HMAT Ceramic (A40) on 7 October 1916. He was wounded in action in France on 9 April 1917 and died four days later, aged 24 years old. His cousin (raised as a brother) 6614 Pte Ernest Henry Parslow, who joined up with him, was wounded and repatriated to Australia in 1918.
