Description
Collection of 36 original letters, most with accompanying envelopes, handwritten by SX12694 Craftsman (Cfn) Peter Ralph Cornish, 2/4 Armoured Regiment Workshops, Royal Australian Electrical & Mechanical Engineers. The letters span the period January 1942 to October 1945, and were written to his wife Billie, who was living at Kingscote, Kangaroo Island. Most letters are several pages in length, all were written in Australia, and much mention was made of his young children Margaret and Barrie. Collection also includes one letter written in 1940 prior to Cfn Cornish's enlistment, one loose page from a letter, and a receipt from Kodak.
