Studio portrait of Lieutenant (Lt) Archibald Niven Sinclair, 2nd Pioneer Battalion. A draftsman prior to enlisting on 13 September 1915, Lt Sinclair embarked for overseas service at the end of 1915. He was promoted to the rank of Captain (Capt) on 25 March 1917. Capt Sinclair was awarded the Military Cross on 25 August 1917. He died of wounds in Belgium on 14 October 1917, aged 37 years.
