"View from Destroyer Hill showing Sazli Beit Dere, Fishermans Hut, the Tugboat Marsden stranded on the beach into which the Turks fired about 200 large explosive shells & only hit her four or five times. In the Gully on the right, note the bridge over gully, near this road the 3rd ALH dressing station. Further down note the big sand bag barricade to prevent our men moving up the gully from being hit by snipers. On the left of the Spur note the big sap. The ship in the distance is a hospital ship. This shot is worth enlarging altho it was taken on a very dull day." (Original inscription).
From a collection relating to the service of Captain Piero Fiaschi, Australian Army Medical Corps, (later Lieutenant-Colonel, OBE), serving with the 1st Light Horse Field Ambulance in Egypt and as Regimental Medical Officer with the 3rd Light Horse Regiment at Gallipoli.
