Description

Group portrait of an unidentified AIF Overseas Training Brigade entertainment troupe. Eight are dressed as Pierrots and the other three are dressed in civilian [performance] clothing. The verso is inscribed "To Nick from Billy" and in another hand "This group not known". The clown top right has makeup which appears to be created around his facial disfigurement [war wounds?]. This image is part of a collection relating to the service of 6408 Private Ernest Alfred (Nick) Nicholls, 8th Battalion, from Melbourne, Victoria. [See images P11238.001 to P11238.015.]
