Port side view of MV Krait, a Chinese built diesel engined trawler formerly the property of a Japanese fishing firm in Singapore. During 1942, Krait was commandered and operated by the Services Reconnaissance Department, Allied Intelligence Bureau, for clandestine operations. It was subsequently operated by the Royal Australian Navy and became famous for its role in Operation Jaywick conducted by Z Special Unit in a successful attempt to sabotage Japanese shipping in Singapore Harbour on the night of 26 September 1943.
